LINCOLN / DOUGLAS DEBATES HAT KEY CHAIN
STERLING SILVER LINCOLN / DOUGLAS DEBATES...STOVE PIPE HAT KEY CHAIN.......$45.00
Although this little charm may remind you of vintage political memorabilia,
it was actually created at Brook in The Thicket Jewelry studio this year.
We created it in sterling silver and inscribed the phrase,
“Lincoln Douglas Debates 1858” across the small stove-pipe hat
…which is the kind Lincoln wore. The charm measures approximately
½ inch tall and ½ inch across the bottom of the hat.
2008 will be the sesquicentennial year of the famous Debates that took place
in the state of Illinois in 1858…important because it started Lincoln on his
career path to the White House. It is in Union County, Illinois that the
third Debate (of seven) took place…just a few miles from our studio home.
Inspired by this historical event so near, we thought it would be fitting to have
a charm to commemorate it.
This charm has a heavy duty loop.. Hat charm and chain are sterling silver.
Key ring is sturdy base metal with a hand hammered look.
All loops are soldered closed for durability.
This item comes gift boxed.
